Cerro de la Cruz

Saturday morning, our host family took one last adventure with Felipe to the Cerro de la Cruz! After over three hundred steps, we reached the top of the hill and had a magical view of the Antigua.

On Saturday, Clara, Gayle and I watched with confusion as a group of women danced down the "calle" wearing hideous masks and ridiculous outfits. Chapi-mami Carolina (aka my host mom) later informed us that we had witnessed the dance of the grandmas. This parade/dance foreshadowed the coming festival on Sunday and Monday.
