First, some good news...
OFFICIALNESS
On July fourth, I will miss the typical red, white and blue celebration as I board a plane for Guatemala City. No apple pie, no afternoon at the pool, no barbeque, no Fourth of July parade. I'm tempted to wear my new American flag shirt (via Salvation Army) in order to celebrate....but I don't want my appearance to scream "LOOK I'M AMERICAN, KIDNAP ME POR FAVOR!!"
IN MOURNING FOR...
On June 2nd, I received the following news:I have some sad news. The University is discontinuing its PED Scuba Program, and the Fall semester scuba course is being canceled.
I am sure that this was not an easy decision for the Kinesiology Department. Scuba is a very popular program, and every section is always full with people waiting in line at the beginning of each semester. But the funding cuts to the state's university system that are being made by the Texas Legislature are requiring some drastic cutbacks, and scuba is one of the casualties in our department
Nooooooooooooooooo!!! I believe I told EVERYONE this past semester that I was taking scuba in the fall. I convinced many of my friends to even sign up with me!! I have never been more excited for a class in my entire life. Seriously. This was going to get me one step closer to my dream...
I want to swim with sharks, especially a whale shark (bucket list #1)
I guess I will just have to postpone this a while longer...
And then, more dreadful news:
I used to be very proud of my iTunes library song count...
17,000 plus songs...
but foolish me, I tried to manually back up all of my information, as requested by the Mac store, before I sent in my computer, and well, what do you know...I skipped a step. My laptop came back with my hard drive completely untouched, but my external hard drive was now defunct. My songs all gone. Therefore, I am currently in a rebuilding stage as far as music goes. At least now, I know which bands I have outgrown? Trying to be optimistic here.
