Hungover Muffins

SO it's been nearly a month without blogging....WEIRD.
Quick updates:
1. In a facebook competition with Kelsey (and Kristen but she lost) to see who can go longer without using the addictive social networking site. So far it has been SEVENTEEN days. We are allotted ten minutes each Sunday to check messages and events. Slowly, ever so slowly, facebook is becoming less of an addiction. I miss it, but I refuse to lose.
If you ain't first, you're last. -Ricky Bobby

2. The creator of AUSTIN CITY LIMITS came and spoke to my Pathways to Civic Engagement class a few weeks ago to discuss entrepreneurship. Listening to his successes and failures in the music business was extremely captivating. At the end of our discussion, he announced to my class of 15 students that we would all be receiving 2 free passes to ACL 2011! It will be the 10th Anniversary! The bands are sure to be AmAzInG! Now I have three tickets to ACL. :) :) :)

3. Going through YL leadership training! Today is the big interview day, the last step to becoming a Young Life leader! I hope all goes well, if you read this before 5 pm, please pray for me.

4. Also related to my Pathways class, we were challenged to come up with an entrepreneurial idea and.....I came up with a pretty extensive list, ran ideas by my friends and family and....decided to create a business. The Hungover Muffin. Like Tiff's Treats, The Hungover Muffin would deliver muffins like breakfast in bed, except unlike Tiff's, deliveries would only take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. Our main clientele would be the inebriated Longhorn students of West Campus. :) The website is up, the opening date looks to be about September 2, 2011 and more details are too come.

5. TRI DELT FORMAL was on Friday and it was a blast. My date was awesome. My dress was awesome. My dinner was awesome. My friends were awesome. Awesome awesome awesome. We met up at Towers, took a Hummer limo downtown to Roaring Fork where we had dinner, and then we went to Abels on the Lake, the entire restaurant rented out, for live music, two stepping, face painting, and excitement.

6. Michelle, Linda & Hannah came up Saturday-Sunday and hung out with me!!! Austin Java, Tiff's Treats, Pluckers, Kerbey Lane = too perfect.
