AUSTIN CITY LIMITS

All i really want to talk about is Austin City Limits (ACL). I don't really care if this means ignoring a week of my life. ACL was magical. Truly. For those of you fortunate enough to attend this past weekend, now we are bonded in some way. You and me and sixty thousand other people all were enlightened in one way or another this weekend. Okay so I know what you're thinking. . .sounds kind of hippie-ish. But really, it was an experience worth having and I was enlightened in the sense that I got to witness the real diversity of this great city.

I got to spend the cloudless, sunny weekend with the love of my life, kat, and her friend katie. The two became my little "babies" this weekend and I loved leading them around campus and the city of Austin like a momma duck. They arrive Thursday night, toured Plan II Friday morning, and then it was off to the festival.

Friday went as follows: Miike Snow, Beach House, Vampire Weekend, The Strokes

And Saturday: The Very Best (kinda), Pete Yorn, Lucero, Manchester Orchestra, Black Lips, The xx, LCD Soundsystem, Matt & Kim, M.I.A.

Top concerts were definitely Miike Snow, Matt & Kim (absolute dance party), and Vampire Weekend. . .of course, my obsession since middle school. Beach House was a nice discovery and it didn't hurt being front row with pretty Floridian, Crawford. The xx was also enjoyable, the guy Oliver Sim also resembled Chuck Bass, a quality I didn't mind one bit. Matt & Kim though, definitely had me dancing the entire time with Jasmine, Stephanie and Crawford. Vampire Weekend instilled in me a greater love for their album Contra. Overall, ACL went over swimmingly well. It was well worth any ticket price :)

Note: I got lazy with my camera, very unlike me, so some of pictures below were stolen from Kat. (My babies were great guests by the way and they are welcome back whenever.)
