Uneventful Saturday

So today was pretty average and boring. . . work, watched The Runaways, dinner at Piattos, then a playdate with Michelle--Starbucks and swinging at the park.

If you ever go to Piattos, order this. Battered asparagus topped with delicious, decadent crab meat. I hate asparagus but I could easily eat this for breakfast.

Missing: A picture of my main course-- tenderloin medallions topped with mushrooms and served with a side of potatoes (and spinach but that was passed to the mom). When it finally came out, I was too excited to remember my camera.

Tall vanilla steamer at 140 degrees, the beverage of champions.

Scary thing was when the lights at the park suddenly shut down causing us to run screaming toward the car. Overall, pretty yawn inducing day. Though, for Kathryn, today was the day of her birth eighteen years ago. Feliz cumpleanos loveboat/muffinhead.

Texas Treasures

So you live in Texas. That means you probably own a pair of cowboy boots, or maybe several pairs. If you live in Houston, perhaps you've heard of a small treasure in Montrose called Texas Junk. A store run by Bob Novotney, an old western hippie, that brings more truth to the saying-
one man's junk is another man's treasure

Cliche. I know. But with over a thousand pairs of boots and other oddities--whozits, whatzits, thingamabobs--you cannot argue that this store is not a rare place. And what you find inside might just be a hidden pearl.

Right! So visited Texas Junk today with the parents after work and I brought the camera. Perfff! My mom ended up trading in her old boots for a super great pair of Luchese black & burgundy boots that are supposedly handmade. I also found a GLORIOUS leather vest with fringe, but left emptyhanded. This summer, I've already purchased like two vests, therefore owning now four. I'm slightly obsessed so I may return tomorrow for the leather one. Then in the afternoon, went to the Container Store to buy college stuffff and now it's movie night with the Mama. Pride & Prejudice (classic Keira) and The Runaways, recommended by Kathryn.

((So here are some pics from Texas Junk. I created a second flickr account))

Sad news--reached the capacity of my flickr photo account.

Upload to Flickr

You've used 99% of your 100 MB photo limit and 0 of your 2 video limit this month. Upgrade?

Upgrade? I wish. I'm a poor college student now and both mother & father don't exactly promote blogging. So what was my last photo uploaded? Yes I can share.

Have I ever mentioned to you that I love dinosaurs?

Anyways, in all honesty, pretty dull day. Work. Shopping. Purchased Minnetonka moccasins. Ate a yummy pretzel. Dinner. Project Runway.

Lordyyy, I feel so bad for giving you nothing. Why don't you go check out the following artists, sit back and enjoy these last few lingering weeks of summer: Blizten Trapper's Destroyer of the Void , David Guetta's One Love, Knaan's Troubadour, and Stromae, DJ DoYou, & Coeur de Pirate. Music from a girl with 14000 songs. Your welcome :)

Cumpleanos & Bacon

Worked today with amazing kids Aiden, Valentina, Noah, etc. and then did a super clean sweep of my room--I am now able to see the floor of my closet. Tonight, celebrated Jacque's birthday at Star Pizza which was delicious and she absolutely LOVED her present from me//bacon air freshener, cupcake floss, & giftcard. Haha oh the bacon freshener is def going to attract some hotties to her car.

Rewind to a few days, I feel like I may have slighted you all in terms of the Gaga post. I hope you enjoyed the pictures, but true, the details were a little lacking.

Concert quality--five hundred golden starrrs. Gaga did over a dozen outfit changes, and played all her top hits: Alejandro, Bad Romance, Paparazzi, Monster, Teeth, Dance in the Dark, Poker Face, Boys Boys Boys, etc. She preached equal rights for members of the LGBT community and promoted self-love, promising freedom for her little monsters in attendance. Everyone was dancing with their paws up, true little monster style, and some of the outfits worn by fans were absolutely ridiculous like straight up lingerie.

As far as my outfit, yeah I looked kinda like an 80's Barbie doll. BUT my fabulous dress was from Value Village for an absolute steal. I actually got the dress hemmed which cause over four times as much as the dress itself. Leggings - $10 from Urban Outfitters. Shoes originally purchased for prom. Earrings from mother's closet. Hair & makeup both done by the lovely mother. Dressing up was truly almost as much fun as the actual concert. Overall, Kylie & I loved dancing in the dark as little monsters monday night. We saw the Madonna of our time and it was glorious.

Then. . .time to get ready for the concert!!

Semi Precious Weapons - Opening Band

The Amazing Super Wonderful Lady Gaga.

"A lot of people didn't believe in me. But you have made me brave now. Little monsters make me brave."

"Tonight, when you leave the Monster Ball, don't leave loving me more. Leave loving yourself more. You're a superstar."

Gaga Sneak Peak

So the day I've been waiting for all summer has arrived. I'm going to see Gaga, my love, in concert at the Toyota Center. Um. . .words cannot express how excited I am right now. Don't expect an elaborate report until probably tomorrow. Instead, go put on some eyeliner, take off your pants, and blast some Gagaloo. Recipe for a perfect evening.

Very last minute, I found someone to take my shift at work so I could join my parents for a Flatonian adventure at our relatively new ranch. I love escaping away from the city to explore our seventyfive acres. After breakfast at Cracker Barrel, um. . .YUM, we arrived in Flatonia around nine or so. I began taking pictures (that's about as much work as I do) while my mother & father cut the grass, vacuumed the house, built shelves, cleared vines, sprayed bug killer, etc.

Me hard at work:

Then for lunch, we drove eight miles to Moulton for their annual festival (thing? idk the name). Sausage on a stick, live (polka?) music, antique tractor show, and carnival rides. Had it not been five thousand degrees outside, we would've stayed much longer. Though, the hostile looks I received from the locals were also reason enough to leave. I thought cowboy boots were more common in the country.

Then it was backkkk to "work"

Worked so hard that I haddd to take a nice two hour nap on the porch of the house. Such a hassle. But honestly, Hunter wasn't there to explore with me so the ranch wasn't as spectacular as normal. Nonetheless, I cannot wait till we have air conditioning and then I can invite everyone up to play! And all together, we will go to Dairy Queen and have oreo + caramel blizzards (my dinner tonight). Does that sound wonderful to you?
